A colleague of mine left for medina munawarrah last sunday to perform hajj 1430. She's only 30 plus and when others would be busy with everything duniawi, she chooses to complete the fifth islamic pillar. Masya Allah .. i could not feel anything but happiness for her and felt chastised for myself. She said she has all the basic needs in life so its time to achieve this also.
I'm all about worldly affairs and needs that i dont even have a tabung haji account. It hardly crosses my mind to start putting money for my pilgrimage let alone strive to make it real. I think about the material world all the time. It is the best to go while you are healthy body, mind and soul and you can leave your kids with people you trust but I'm coming up with way too many excuses. the first i can think of, is we've yet to own a house. but i know then there will always be something else. The big chunks of our income will end up in closets or racks when i should seriously put it away for savings.
So i'm determined now to aim for hajj 1440-2019. By then Insya Allah, we'll have had a house,all debts mostly cleared, the kids are big enough to tend for themselves and we are in early forties which should be healthy in all aspects.
Besides my friend, the clip of hajj featuring anuar zain's ketulusan hati on astro oasis also tugged my heart.
Allah give me strength and will.
